Rock Church Mission Trips The rock church (san diego) desires to make short term missions trips available for the members of it’s church. That’s why they’re partnering with Believers World Outreach. You don’t need to sell everything, uproot and move overseas to follow God’s call as a missionary. No matter whether you feel called “out” to foreign soil or “to” missions here in San Diego, let your light shine!

Cape Town Township Experience

We will be working in conjunction with Floyd McClung as we focus on Masiphumelele and Ocean View, two townships of Cape Town both extremely rich in beauty, culture, and need. We will bring the hope of Jesus to townships that suffer under the weight of hopelessness brought on by 70% unemployment, high levels of child abuse, and poverty.

Whether going door to do to visit shut-ins, spending time talking and playing board games with AIDS victims in a hospice, teaching Christian values in local schools, or assisting in the daycare ministry, you will experience firsthand the incredible value of these colorful and generous people.

  • Ocean View is an urban settlement of over 30,000 colorful multi- ethnic people.

  • Originally known as simply Site 5, this township was renamed Masiphumelele by its residents, which means “We will succeed.” Over 26,000 people live in Masi.

costa rica.

unique situation

A small indigenous population retreated to the mountains to escape the Spanish in the 1600’s. In contrast, needy refugees have flocked to makeshift beach communities.

unique need

The people living in the mountains are isolated in their need. The people living in the beach communities are ignored and forgotten.

trip dates

June 25- July 8,2008

trip prices

$1,898 from Miami, Fl

$1,998 from Los Angeles, CA

We will partner with Calvary Chapel Missionaries, Mike Lawerence, to form teams for evangelism, construction, VBS, medical, clinics and tech support. Everyone has a place on the team in Costa Rica. We’ll experience the rainforest, mountains, and volcanoes while helping others experience freedom, forgiveness and the transforming love of Jesus Christ.

Quitirrisi & Jaco Beach
  • Quitirrisi. Perched 3000 ft from the valley floor, they live in small homes where they make handicrafts from vegetable fiber for roadside sales to tourist.

  • Jaco Beach. While the surf and party scene give an alluring exterior, the barrios of this city are filled with poverty, drugs, alcohol, and prostitution. The Nicaraguans that have moved to Costa Rica for a better life are looked down on by nationals. Many are illegally in Costa Rica so they won’t get proper medical treatment for fear of being sent back to Nicaragua. Most end up in the barrios such as one that is in “the River Bed.” They remain trapped in utter poverty.

uganda.

unique situation

Uganda has endured the scourge of civil war and a deadly AIDS epidemic which has nearly wiped out an entire generation.

We will partner with local area churches along with Calvary Chapel of Jinja, to create four teams: orphanage, construction, medical, and outreach. We will help relieve some of the stress of their day to day living through construction as well as lend a hand to hold, hug, love and care for these precious children. We will travel to fields, villages, schools, and prisons for outreach in drama, VBS, and sports and evangelism.

Jinja & Masaka

  • Jireh Children’s Center is an orphanage in the mountains, where over 150 children live and attend school.

  • Amani Baby Cottage is a home to as many as 70 orphaned babies at any given time.

  • The Village of Kayiriki and Kiyumba are rural communities where a Christian church has recently been established.
