Uganda, Africa: 15 days in Jinja & Masaka

We will partner with local area churches along with Calvary Chapel of Jinja, to create four teams: orphanage, construction, medical, and outreach.

•  Relieve some of the stress of their day to day living through construction as well as lend a hand to hold,  hug, love and care for these precious children.
  

• Travel to fields, villages, schools, and prisons for outreach in drama, VBS, and sports and evangelism.

• Jireh Children’s Center is an orphanage in the mountains, where over 150 children live and attend school.

• Amani Baby Cottage is a home to as many as 70 orphaned babies at any given time.

• The Village of Kayiriki and Kiyumba are rural communities where a Christian church has recently been established.
  

Costa Rica: 12 days in Hermosa & Jaco Beach

We will partner with long term  Missionaries and local churches to form teams for evangelism, construction, VBS, medical, clinics and tech support. Everyone has a place on the team in Costa Rica.

• Serve in 1 or 8 different ministry types
• Wake up early for dawn patrol in Hermosa Beach, then lay the foundations of surfing and faith to kids at afternoon surf camp.
• Touch people’s hearts through haircuts and manicures.
• Bring health to their bodies through medical clinics.
• Rebuild lives through construction projects.
• Use crafts, snacks, and music, to share Christ at VBS.
• Participate in evangelism through sports or drama outreach.

• Heromosa Beach: One of the top ten surf spots in all the world. Sister town to Jaco Beach. 

• Jaco Beach. While the surf and party scene give an alluring exterior, the barrios of this city are filled with poverty, drugs, alcohol, and prostitution. The Nicaraguans that have moved to Costa Rica for a better life are looked down on by nationals. Many are illegally in Costa Rica so they won’t get proper medical treatment for fear of being sent back to Nicaragua. Most end up in the barrios such as one that is in “the River Bed.” They remain trapped in utter poverty.

TRIP OPTION A:
Midigo Pastors Conference & Village Mission trip Believers World Outreach and Calvary Chapel are also excited to present another mission trip option to the Calvary Chapel East Africa Pastors conference in Midigo, with additional ministry opportunities, July 17-31st, 2009. Midigo is an unreached, impoverished, 95% Muslim community and is the home of Calvary Chapel Midigo, pastored by Dr. Juventine Emuku. In addition to attending the pastors conference in Kampala, you’ll also have the chance to travel into the bush of Midigo to attend a one-ofa-kind conference among the pastors of that area.
On this trip, we will also work with the children and families of Promise Child (a child sponsorship program), providing medical assistance in the Midigo hospital, and evangelizing in the local Muslim villages. We need medical doctors and nurses, worship leaders, and people with a heart for evangelism, children, and the downtrodden.

TOWN AND VILLAGE MINISTRY
The village of Gulu has been the location of much of the insurgent fighting by the Lord's Resistance Army Over 90% of the population has been displaced, mostly into camps clustered around towns and trading centers. To avoid abduction by the LRA thousands of children have traveled night commuting from rural areas to seek refuge in towns every night. However due to the improving security situation the 'night commuters' fleeing every night in the district has ended for the children of northern Uganda. For the past few years, the region has been closer to peace than ever before. Now begins the healing process for these children affected by this civil war. They have been broken, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. These children need more than ever to know the love and acceptance of their Savior.
No matter your personality, skill-set, or gifts, you can play a part in shoring up, expanding, or even laying a spiritual foundation for these hurting  people in East Africa. Use your gift sets to minister to orphans, evangelism outreach, construction projects, medical clinics, music & drama, logistics coordination, and prayer, Calvary Chapel members will unite as a team to support  East African pastors, leaders, AND their communities.
THE PASTORS CONFERENCE
In East Africa, a majority of pastors have only a partial foundation of God’s Word. While they are zealous in preaching what they know, they are hungry for more.
Calvary Chapel East Africa’s vision is to come alongside these African pastors support them in their quest to disciple their nation with integrity, wisdom, and the whole truth of God’s Word. In Turn, they have a sole focus and undying trust in the Lord that looks past the innumerable distractions of our western culture.
