Belize- Christmas Break Trip
We are announcing a brand new trip coming December 27, 2010 – January 2, 2011.
Shine the light of Christmas in this Holiday season in Spanish Lookout, Belize
A little about Belize:
Although the small country of Belize is breathtakingly beautiful, it is a very spiritually dark country that is suffering.
Belize by and large is an underdeveloped country with the south being further behind in its progress. This disparity is reflected in all aspects of life from economical to spiritual. The country is composed of seven districts. Among the Belizeans, the southern end of the country is known as the forgotten land.
The Belizean people are a mixture of ethnic groups unique in their individual cultures, but mingle together to create a unique Belize culture.
Many of the Belizean children suffer from broken homes, teenage unwanted pregnancies, and simple neglect and abandonment. Belize has long been an important trans-shipment link in the chain of drug supply between the producers of South and Central America, creating a deluge in illegal drugs. As always, the children become the victims. Many of the children do not have school supplies, proper shoes, and uniforms that are required for attending school. Though few orphanages exist, countless children are neglected.
To sum it all up – Belize is a country that is spiritually mal-nourished.
We will minister to in the cities of Spanish Lookout and Belmopan. These places have been carved out of the jungle in the center of Belize, near the Maya Mountain foothills.
We want to bring the hope of Christ this Christmas season.
We will:
- Take part in children’s outreaches, Using crafts, sports, snacks, music, & arts to minister to underprivileged children.
- Share Holiday joy & encouragement with local village pastors & their fellowships.
- Help with construction on an outreach center.
What better way to celebrate our saviors birth than passing on the same love He has shown us.
